Career Highlights

Nick Heidfeld gained the basics of his racing career in karting. Establishing himself as one of the top talents of Germany, he quickly moved into Formula racing. He took the 1994 German Formula Ford 1600 Championship in convincing style. 1995 proved to be as successful with Nick winning the FF1800 International German Championship and also runner-up of German Formula Ford 1800.

In 1996 he progressed into German Formula 3, finishing in 3rd place overall with 3 notable wins, and in 1997 went on to win the whole Championship. In 1998 he was also runner-up of the FIA 3000 International Championship. In 1999 Heidfeld added another title to his record winning the Formula 3000 European Championship. He had also become the test driver for McLaren.

In 2000 he made his F1 debut in Melbourne with Prost. 2001 saw Nick move to the Sauber team in a season that saw Nick achieve his first podium position in the Brazilian GP and come in eighth place overall.
He came in 10th and 14th place in the driver's championship in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Heidfeld is currently signed with the Jordan team.
