Career Highlights
Kimi Raikkonen started out his racing in career in karting
and boasts a formidable record. Top results include Finnish Champion
in Class Formula A, Champion of the Nordic Championship and European
Karting Grand Prix winner in the 1998 season. In 1999 he won the
Formula Renault winter series with Manor Motorsport.
2000 was a huge year in Raikkonen's career, as well as becoming
the British Renault 2000 Champion he also signed for the next F1
season with Sauber Petronas.
In his first F1 full season Raikkonen came in 9th overall. In 2002
Raikkonen signed with McClaren
Mercedes and finished in 6th place in 2002 and improved further
in 2003 to take 2nd position.
Progressive success has continued for Raikkonen as he achieved
his first win in Spa this 2004 season.
