Career Highlights
After accomplishing a strong karting record on the Italian and World
stages alike, Fisichella moved into Italian F3 racing in 1992, and
achieved a win in his first season. He continued from strength to
strength finishing up as runner-up in 1993 and finally in 1993 becoming
Champion of the Italian F3 in 1994. In 1995 he moved into the International
Touring Car Championship.
In 1996 he made his F1 debut in Australia with Minarda, and achieved
a second place in the Belgian GP in his first F1 season. Thereafter
Fisichella moved to Benetton for four years and enjoyed a couple
of well-deserved podium finishes. In 2002 Fisichella rejoined the
Jordan Team and despite a difficult return, finally achieved his
first win at the Interlogos Grand Prix in 2003.
This season has proved more of a success with Sauber
Team, but still lacking the accolades deserving of Fisichella's
true talents. Giancarlo Fisichella has signed with Renault for the
2005 season.
